How to care for our diamonds?

¿Cómo cuidar nuestros diamantes?

Diamonds are one of the hardest substances on earth, and are extraordinarily resistant, but this does not mean that they should not be cared for, because when wearing a piece of jewelry with one or more diamonds, they may be exposed to dust, perspiration, creams, natural skin oils, and household chemicals such as chlorine and soap.

To prevent these materials from accumulating on the diamond and dulling its natural brilliance, we want to share five tips for caring for, cleaning, and keeping them safe.

  • Apply them when your skin is dry.

The first thing you should do is wear your jewelry or diamonds only after your skin is completely dry. And we're not just talking about water! Perfumes, lotions, body creams, and makeup can all damage a diamond.

  • Wash your hands before touching them.

Since you have them in place, please avoid touching them directly constantly, especially if your hands are not 100% clean, as grease can accumulate and dull their shine.

  • Take them off.

We know that a diamond-encrusted piece can be your favorite accessory, so you'll want to wear it all the time; however, if you want to keep it in the best condition for a lifetime, we recommend that you avoid wearing it when you're going to do any activity that could damage it, such as cooking or exercising.

  • Safeguard them.

Store each one separately, in cloth bags or special boxes to avoid any damage; constant contact with other diamonds could scratch and damage them.

  • Clean them.

The cleaning techniques you use are also very important. Be sure to remove any oil and dust that may have accumulated on your diamonds, as these can dull their beautiful brilliance. If you wear them frequently, wash them at least once a week with warm water and mild dish soap. For professional maintenance, consider a deep cleaning service.
